Our employment practice handles all aspects of employment law, including advisory, transactional and contentious issues. We help our clients with a variety of matters ranging from day-to-day HR questions to sensitive restructuring, planning and strategy issues and represent our clients before administrative bodies and civil courts when disputes arise. We have acted for multinational clients before the administrative authorities and courts in cases relevant to social securities’ disputes involving violation of the Greek Constitution and the European Convention of Human Rights and have collaborated with top foreign law firms in representation before the EU Commission in cases involving pension schemes.

We provide clients with a pragmatic and commercial insight, ensuring their compliance with the full regulatory scope of employment law. In this context, we handle a wide range of employment topics arising on several occasions of the business cycle, including business transformation and restructuring. We regularly advise on all issues arising from the employment of employees, workers, directors and contractors, from their recruitment to their dismissal and retirement and provide guidance on the negotiation and drafting of employment contracts.

Work Highlights

Advice and legal representation in relation to executive employee’s dismissal

We have been involved in the litigation and final out-of-court settlement related to an alleged illegal dismissal of an executive, representing the employer before the labor authorities, actively participating in all negotiations and preparing all related legal and settlement documentation

Support on post-merger procedures and transfer of employees

We have been providing legal assistance in relation to transfer of employees within the framework of post-merger procedures of a multinational group of companies and drafted all relevant legal and contractual documentation

Contribution to Employee’s Handbook

We contributed in the preparation of an Employee Handbook to be distributed to the employees of a multinational company, incorporating all relevant provisions of Greek labor law in relation to dismissal, annual leave, sickness leave, allowances etc.
